【募集の背景 / Purpose & Scope】
• Leadership: Support the Head of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) to lead the team to create entire Environment strategy planning and advocacy with cross-functional team
• Strategic focus: Support Head of EHS&S to achieve SG4b in CSP2021 (and beyond) by proposing the team’s annual objectives and division of duties / daily tasks in collaboration with cross- functional teams, as required
• Capability: Build strong capability and understanding of Environment Sustainability.
• Culture: Foster a culture of EHS within the organization by promoting best practices and encouraging employee engagement in EHS initiatives
• Driving results: Alignment of team’s activities to Astellas’ OHGs, Performance and Strategic Goals

【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities】

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations to mitigate legal risks and maintain operational integrity.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage internel/external EHS risks to protect employees, the environment, company assets and product supply.
• Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a culture of safety within the organization by promoting best practices and encouraging employee engagement in EHS initiatives.
• Program Development: Design and implement effective EHS programs and policies that align with organizational goals and industry standards.
• Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness and understanding of EHS practices and compliance requirements.
• Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of EHS incidents, including assessments, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Drive sustainability efforts by promoting environmentally responsible practices and reducing the company’s ecological footprint.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure comprehensive EHS strategies that support business objectives and enhance community relations.

【応募要件 / Qualifications】
Minimum Qualification
• BS or BA degree (in environmental science, occupational health, safety management, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's or PhD) may be preferred.
• High perspective

• Strategic thinking and approach
• English business communication (writing, speaking)
• Japanese business communication (writing, speaking)

Minimum Experience
• Several years of experience in EHS roles, with a proven track record in leadership positions. Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management is essential
• In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Demonstrated communication ability with cross-functional team and external stakeholdersStrong leadership abilities and proven ability of project management as well as the ability to guide EHS initiatives and foster a culture of safety within the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey EHS policies and procedures to various stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and develop effective EHS strategies
• Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of EHS programs and initiatives.
• Ability to design and implement training programs to educate employees on EHS practices and compliance.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external regulatory agencies.
• Commitment to continuous improvement in EHS practices and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.

①基本給:当人の経歴・技術・技能等を考慮して決定
②裁量労働制の場合:裁量労働手当として職務グレードに応じて50,000~100,000円支給
③フレックスタイム制の場合:月間の所定労働時間を超えて勤務する時間に対して時間外勤務手当を支給
①Base salary: will be decided by the candidate's experience, skill and capability.
②When Discretionary Work System is applied: Discretionary work allowance will be paid.(50,000~100,000yen, based on the Grade)
③When Flextime System is applied: Overtime allowance will be paid for time worked in excess of prescribed working hours.
