【募集の背景 / Purpose & Scope】
Formulation & ADME group drives the optimization of drug candidates through globally competitive formulation development and advanced ADME strategies from the early stages of oncology drug discovery to clinic. This role provides the strategic guidance on the optimization of candidates' pre-formulation/physicochemical properties/ADME, accelerates the DMTA cycle through strategic study plan and the delivery of high-quality, high-quantity, and high-speed readouts and supports research leads from formulation perspectives, establishing ourselves as a formulation and ADME group with global competitiveness.  The missions of Discovery Formulation group are to contribute to pipeline enrichment in Oncology Research and maximize formulation-related activities. Primary scope covers candidate-discovery stage, which from Ideation. Also, we will engage closely to ensure a seamless transition of the project as part of our collaborative work with our CMC colleagues.
Head of Discovery Formulation can partly delegate to him/her the authority to make decisions in a limited range of things to achieve their goals.


【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities】

・Act as program lead for the pre-formulation activities, focusing on chemical entity programs (Cambridge UK, Boston, Tsukuba), and/or biologics (SSF, Tsukuba) and establish the pre-formulation strategy in TPP.
・Develop formulation screening platform in the early stage.
・Support research leads as a representative or SME of formulation perspectives.
・Drive formulation initiatives in line with overall Oncology Research strategy and objectives.
・Interact/manage external vendors (CROs, academic sites etc.) for conducting in vivo and in vitro experiments.
・Support research leads as a representative of formulation experts.
・Align with overall Oncology Research strategy and objectives.
・Partner with other teams in Oncology Research as well as Development and CMC members to translate scientific insights into actionable ADME/formulation strategies.

【応募要件 / Qualifications】
<必須 / Required>
・Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field.
・Minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a focus on drug formulation, ADME, safety and/or drug delivery.
・Extensive experience in formulation design with multiple therapeutic modalities (e.g. engineered small molecules, peptides, ADCs, multifunctional antibodies).
・Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing formulation selection and establishing SARs for small molecule, antibody, and ADC.
・Strong communication skills (active & passive) in own language and in English.

・Proven track record of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting in a leadership role.
・External scientific network and reputation, demonstrated by patents, publications and presentations.
・Demonstrated leadership competencies in formulation related activities from planning, implementation through completion across multiple projects.
