【募集の背景 / Purpose & Scope】
The role of this Scientist II, In Vivo position will be focused on advancing our allogenic iPSC derived cell therapy strategies by designing, conducting, and reporting in vivo studies of efficacy, tolerability, and/or persistence.
【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities】

• Responsible for the design, execution, analysis, analysis and presentation of in vivo studies of cell therapy assets including, but not limited to, efficacy, bio-distribution and persistence with minimal oversight.
• Leadership from the bench. This position is expected to demonstrate leadership through not only planning, and communication, but through hands-on execution of experiments and training of others.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for in vivo pre-clinical models of cell therapies across modalities and indications by remaining at the forefront of scientific literature of iPSCs, cell therapies, and in vivo models.
• Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols/SOPs, and presentations. Regularly presents findings at group meetings and to upper management to support program-level, data-driven decisions.
• Understand and participate in development of project timelines, deliverables, and priorities.
• Supporting cross-functional knowledge sharing and collaborate on research projects.
• Identifies new research directions including new indications, cell platforms, in vivo models and methodologies.
• Collaborates across teams within R&D, and other teams within Universal Cells to advance development of Astellas assets
• May direct management of one or more research associates or scientists to support in vivo studies of cell therapy assets
• Performs other duties as assigned or special projects as needed

This position is based in Tsukuba, Japan and will require on-site work.
【応募要件 / Qualifications】
＜必須 / Must＞
• Ph.D. in biology, immunology, or a related discipline with 4+ years of relevant post-graduate experience, or a MS with 6+ years, or a BS with 10+ years of highly relevant experience
• Ability to communicate scientific concepts in written and spoken English
• Deep expertise in in vivo models of oncology, and immunology, including proficiency in multiple routes of administration (IM, ID, SC, IV, etc.), organ and tissue harvesting, and blood collection techniques
• Experience with functional immune cell assays, killing assays, flow cytometry, and mammalian cell culture
• Demonstrated success in leading projects and teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead from the bench
• Successful management of scientific staff
• Ability to translate project timelines and deliverables to specific objectives.
• Ability to scientific understandings to innovation in scientific approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to critically analyze, interpret, and present scientific results
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with scientific attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and ability to effectively collaborate with other teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent work planning, organization and record keeping
