This position is responsible for creating or facilitating and implementing comprehensive global Diversity, Engagement & Inclusion (DEI) strategies into operational and actionable objectives and developing accompanying performance metrics for all business and people processes. This position also leads and guides Astellas’ ongoing DEI initiatives and manages best practices to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment. Collaborates across the organization to develop a shared vision, mission, and multi-year strategy.
【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities】

Key Accountabilities include:
• Leads the development of DEI strategies to include programs designed to address barriers and promote fairness and justice within Astellas, resulting in successful attraction, retention and engagement of employees, all done in compliance with laws, regulations and industry standards
• Collaborates with key stakeholders in the development of strategies such as the increase in hiring, promotion, and retention of diverse talent, increase of communication, Sustainability activities and support of a Supplier Diversity Program
• Interacts with a broad audience of stakeholders to influence program design, implementation, and improvements from a DEI perspective
• Collaborates with HR colleagues and business leaders to embed Diversity and Inclusion into all talent management (identification and development of diverse talent), succession planning, leadership/ development people development, and talent acquisition to ensure the DEI strategies and metrics deliver against the organization’s goals
• Identifies DEI trends in the internal or external environment and builds strategic solutions to drive success
• Establishes defined measures of DEI success, targets and short-term and long-term goals and makes adjustments/ improvements progress based on results
• Manages annual Affirmative Action Program and other required submissions
• Engages and partners with relevant external diversity organizations to enhance inclusive talent pipelines
• Lead the development and enhancements of strategies for employee impact group (EIGs) and DEI Governance Council to lead and execute DEI strategies and objectives
• Partner with key stakeholders to develop and oversee implementation of a health equity strategy that addresses the needs of underserved patients and creates business value
• Recommends decision-making criteria and drives execution of established business strategy and direction aligned with enterprise objectives
• Decisions are of moderate to high complexity and have an extensive and direct impact on overall success of area managed
• Facilitates desired organizational culture and environment to foster innovation and growth
• Influences key internal stakeholders at the division level
• Communicates and engages others within area managed to achieve objectives and align with interdependent areas
• Drives decisions and consensus by influencing colleagues and leaders
• Senior thought leader that typically delivers key outcomes for core/ critical projects/ products or processes for a, department, or plant in the enterprise
• Accountable for multiple complex and critical projects for the area managed
• Outcomes are achieved by individual or through project teams, utilizing subject matter expertise; may lead cross-functional projects
• Recommends solutions for complex problems based on in-depth interpretation and analysis of issues to develop alternatives and update practices and policies for area or team managed
• Responsible for knowledge management and capability development for area
• May lead cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence/ quality in the design, execution, and completion of studies/ projects
• May directly supervise people and/ or manage contractors supporting project(s) or process(es)
Job Family: Human Resources
• Accountable for leading and managing key HR activities and outcomes for area supported (typically a department, affiliate, or area within HR). Includes planning, development, design, implementation, and ongoing management to enable the business to deliver on its goals. Acts as expert on all Astellas matters for responsible HR area.
• Accountabilities may include:
- Monitor and evaluate all programs to ensure that they are operating effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Provide leadership and direction in managing daily operations, ensuring consistent processes and controls are in place
- Analyze market data and trends, participate in market surveys, research issues, and develop key reports and information to guide design decision-making
- Develop, design or modify programs to ensure that they support the strategy
- Assess and make recommendations in area of expertise
- Drive annual processes and ensure connection across HRBPs and other business areas
- Serve as point of contact for technical matters within assigned business area
- Manage risk; ensure decisions comply with regulatory works councils/ unions
